New Medicine

Took in a bounty of two medicine plants this weekend!
  1. Ashwaganda, a root from India used for overall vitality and stress tolerance.
  2. Pleurisy Root, a powerful lung medicine, especially for clearing congestion. This plant is related to milkweed and also used for fiber. This native North American is also an important host plant for butterflies; hence it's other common name, Butterfly Weed. Thanks to this plant, Monarch Butterfly caterpillars made there first appearance in Moonstone Gardens this year!
